As a dramatic presentation, a Biblical monologue offers an effective addition to the worship service on Sunday morning. The Biblical character comes to life. When the unfolding of the character's story is delivered through a short monologue, by an actor, the congregation becomes more connected to the time, place and person involved in early Christianity.

A seed was planted years ago for church drama on Sunday mornings. I saw a pastor deliver monologues (in costume) for his sermon; a different passion week character used for each Sunday in Lent leading up to Easter. It had a dramatic impact on me. So vivid I can see some of those characters in my mind to this day.
